Holistic Animal Care Shoppe: Celebrates 20 Years Local in November
The Holistic Animal Care Shoppe has been supporting Tucson and surrounding communities’ pet parents, veterinarians, behaviorists, pet massage therapists, ethical breeders and rescue/foster groups for 20 years, in brick-and-mortar fashion with exceptional, all-natural pet care products. The Shoppe features only natural products to help ensure optimal health and happiness for beloved pets.
The shop is locally and independently owned by Dr. Lisa S. Newman, Ph.D., a world-renowned natural pet care pioneer, author of nine books and educator to veterinarians. She is also the founder and master formulator of Azmira Holistic Animal Care, a featured brand at the store.
“When we say natural, we mean natural; it’s not just a sign or an advertising ploy with us—it’s a way of life,” says Brittney Penn, store manager and Director of Educational Services at the shop. “You will not find mass-marketed, over-hyped, under-performing products in our store. Everything we sell has been tested first-hand by our trained associates. In other words: if it doesn’t work for our own pets, we’re not going to try to sell it to you.” Prices are comparable to “big-box” stores by maintaining low margins on products to encourage giving healthy, natural food and treats to pets.
Holistic Animal Care Shoppe only carries brands and products that are uncompromising in quality, often made in the U.S., and they must make a difference in animals’ lives. “We will become trusted partners with you and your veterinarian in keeping them healthy and happy for their lifetime,” says Penn. “We want to become your ‘go-to-guy’ for easy solutions and referrals to the right practitioners when needed.”
The store’s trained associates undergo a three-month-long certification program written by Newman herself, to ensure customers receive high quality customer service. They can help educate one on over 800 solutions to help prevent or reverse a variety of symptoms, conditions or most any animal-related situation. “We are not a clinic, so we cannot diagnose or prescribe medications, but they do work with exceptional veterinarians and other caregivers, sitters, etc. to refer you to,” says Penn.
