Doctor Pam Goes to India
Pam McMahon, Ph. D.
Pam McMahon, Ph.D., who many people know as “Dr. Pam,” from Journey to Wellness, in Tucson, will be traveling to India in the spring of 2012 to further her studies through an ayurvedic medicine internship.
Ayurveda, the science of living in harmony with nature, is one of the oldest systems of medicine, dating back more than 5,000 years to ancient India. Ayurveda utilizes therapies that include yoga, diet, massage and herbal preparations to bring balance and harmony to the body, mind and soul.
Ayurvedic medicine stresses a holistic approach—not just the treatment of the symptoms of a particular illness. Just as everyone has a unique fingerprint, according to Ayurvedic beliefs, each person has a distinct pattern of energy—a specific combination of physical, mental, and emotional characteristics—and teaches that optimal health can only be attained by the cultivation of proper physical, emotional and mental habits.
Dr. Pam will be conducting a fundraiser to defray some of her expenses by selling custom Journey To Wellness “Peace” T-shirts, as well as raffle tickets. Top prizes include a $500 Visa gift card, a $250 Amazon gift card and a $300 Journey to Wellness gift card.
