Facing an Illness? Know Your Treatment Options
When patients call RN Patient Advocates, they are assigned a personal RN Patient Advocate (iRNPA) that will research treatment options and refer them to the appropriate specialists and guide them through their treatment. An RN Patient Advocate is specially qualified clinical registered nurse (RN) that protects and guides people in their health care. Beginning 11 years ago, Karen Mercereau, RN, iRNPA, a clinical RN for 45 years, developed RN Patient Advocacy as a new branch of professional nursing. An iRNPA ensures patients a thorough diagnostic process, educates them about asking all the right questions.
An RN Patient Advocate personally researches individual treatment options and opens communication between physicians. Working closely with the patient and their family, iRNPAs help achieve the best possible level of health and teach individuals how to be advocates for themselves.
