Sustainable Tucson is on the Move
The mission of Sustainable Tucson is to create a communitywide network of people and organizations facilitating and accelerating Tucson’s transition to sustainability through education and collaborative action. General meetings are held at 5:45 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in the lower level of the downtown library. Coffee and cookies are usually served—BYO cup.
The April 8 meeting will discuss the carbon footprint of Tucson Electric Power and what it would mean to Tucsonan’s to municipalize that utility. The May meeting will focus on food issues: Tucson 2020: A vision of a safe and resilient food supply.
The group is working on projects that include the third annual Envision Tucson Sustainable Festival, slated for October 21, and launching a “time bank” that creates financial security by exchanging hours of service on an equal basis for all.
