The Tucson Hispanic Chamber (THCC) has been named Large Chamber of the Year by the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) from among 250 Hispanic chambers in the nation. Award recipients are selected by an independent panel of judges on the basis of major accomplishments in business and economic development, quality of service, innovation of programs, leadership and services provided to the Hispanic and business community.

President/CEO Lea Márquez Peterson, Chairwoman Tannya Gaxiola, Vice Chairman Carlos Ruiz and Secretary Laura Oldaker traveled to the USHCC conference in Chicago for the awards event, where1,500 corporate and business leaders from across the nation were in attendance. THCC membership has grown from 300 in January 2009 to more than 1,050.
