Living Streets Alliance Promotes Bicycle Advocacy
Tucson is home to thousands of annual events, with many of them taking place during the cooler months of October through April. BicycleTucson.com reports that according to census figures, the local biking commuting has risen by 75 percent since 2007, and bicycle parking everywhere is in higher demand.
Consequently, Living Streets Alliance recently launched launch a new Bike Valet parking management service at Tucson Meet Yourself and will sponsor Cyclovia Tucson on November 2. The mission of Living Streets Alliance is to promote healthy communities by empowering people to transform our streets into vibrant places for walking, bicycling, socializing, and play.
Living Streets Alliance Program Manager Kylie Walzak says, “By providing a bicycle valet at your next event, you’re reducing the event’s impact on traffic congestion and carbon emissions, while freeing up parking spaces for people who need access to them.”
