Neuromuscular Therapy Offers Gentle Relief
Those who suffer from chronic pain can experience frustration from the endless choices and decisions to make when it comes to managing their pain. One possible solution could be neuromuscular therapy (NMT), a drug-free, gentle and effective bodywork treatment.
NMT offers gentle yet effective relief for many chronic pain suffers, including those with conditions like fibromyalgia, degenerative disk disease and plantar fasciitis. Even pain that has no specific diagnosis and stymies the affected can be treated with this gentle therapy.
NMT differs from other massage and bodywork in its thoroughness. Specific protocols are observed for each area of the body, so one session will often consist of treating just the neck, just the shoulders, just the knees, etc., depending on what is being treated. It treats both muscle and nervous tissue, which is one of the reasons it can be so particularly effective.
Stephanie Dixon, LMT, CNMT, has been practicing massage therapy for 10 years and got her neuromuscular therapy certification in 2011. She has two offices in Tucson. For more information, call 520-775-2367, email [email protected] or visit NewLeafTucson.com. See ad, page 37.
