Kathie Takach, owner/stylist at ProjekK hair studio, is now certified in the new Oway color, which is the world’s first professional organic hair color, care and styling line with biodynamic, organic and fair trade ingredients.

“It is biodynamically grown organic oil color, no heat, full coverage and it is amazing,” enthuses Takach.

Although Takach trained at the Vidal Sassoon school, her haircuts are freer, using natural textures to work with the entire person. The cuts grow out well and need minimal styling. Takach wanted ProjekK to reflect the concept of “do no harm.” All supplies are non-toxic and earth-friendly.

The cozy salon in the courtyard of Placita de la Luna, a community of artists, is aromatic with pine, rosemary, lavender and oils used in aromatherapy. There is no chemical smell or products containing ammonia, because the organic color systems originate from roots and plants. This is modern organic hairdressing, where each style is sculpted and clients emerge feeling refreshed.
