Permanent Makeup from A Lasting Touch
Yvette Dwornik, owner and artist of A Lasting Touch Salon, provides permanent makeup using a gentle hand method. She has 20 years of experience, is physician recommended and offers complimentary consultations. A Lasting Touch is currently offering a special of permanent eyebrows or eyeliner for $299 (regularly $375). Salon is centrally located at The Plaza at Williams Centre, Broadway and Craycroft.
Permanent makeup mimics the look of just-applied lipstick, lip liner, eyebrow pencil and eyeliner, through a process called micropigmentation, where a tattoo pen is used to inject permanent ink into the skin. Each procedure takes between 30 and 120 minutes, and Dwornik uses a topical anesthetic to numb the procedure area to ensure client comfort. Just like any tattoo, initially the color will appear brighter or darker, then will fade. Dwornik enjoys hearing her clients often commenting, “I love my permanent makeup; I wish I would have done this sooner.”
“The most obvious benefit to permanent makeup is waking up every day with your ‘face on’. You can swim, exercise, shower and wake up still looking put together and ready to go. It can be ideal for the woman who is constantly on the go,” says Dwornik. Permanent makeup may be for those who have lost hair due to chemotherapy, accidents, burns or cosmetic surgery; have a difficult time applying makeup due to age or conditions, such as arthritis; or have allergies to traditional makeup or sensitive skin.
