Food Sensitivity Nightmare?
Feb 28, 2017 06:37PM ● By Nathan S. Conlee
For those dealing with allergies and food sensitivities, it can be a nightmare trying to figure out what to eat, how to get a healthy diet, how to deal with all the symptoms and how to get help and make the nightmare disappear.
I start with a comprehensive blood metabolic panel, a 198-food hypersensitivity panel and recommend food allergy skin testing. Other testing may be required from information gleaned for these initial tests. Once this information is compiled, they can determine not only foods to avoid and include, but any nutrition needed to detox and rehabilitate the digestive system.
Many have heard terms like leaky gut, histamine reactions, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s and celiac. All these conditions affect one’s ability to absorb nutrition, and any inability to absorb leads to mild to severe symptoms, an unfortunate demise in health and quality of life. “Healthy gut, healthy brain” is a saying in neurology. Research shows that when one has digestive issues, it affects the brain significantly.
