New Kundalini Yoga Class Launching
Nambir Singh
Nambir Singh is launching a new Kundalini yoga class this year. Yoga means union. The goal is to establish the union between oneself and the universe, or to experience the infinite in the finite. Kundalini yoga is a technology that awakens Kundalini energy that we all have. It’s our essence, our creative life force, says Singh. This energy lies at the base of our spine, waiting to be awakened. Kundalini yoga wakes up this dormant energy so we can become our true selves and feel our unlimited potential.
Kundalini yoga is an uplifting blend of spiritual and physical practices. It incorporates movement, dynamic breathing techniques, meditation and the chanting of mantras, such as Sat Nam, meaning “truth is my identity”. The goal is to build physical vitality and increase consciousness.
At the end of every class, Singh plays a 60-inch creation gong that resonates with the vibration that holds the universe together. This creates a neutral state that allows the body to heal and remember our true light bodies. This opens the doors of perception to vast realms of consciousness and is at the heart of all spiritual experiences.
Kundalini yoga has been kept a secret until 1969, when Yogi Bhajan brought it to the U.S. He opened an ashram here in Tucson, near the university. “I had the privilege to meet and chant with him,” says Singh. “Kundalini yoga is specifically designed for the Aquarian Age we are now in. People can now recognize their own divinity or their purpose in life, making the impossible possible. We’re all spiritual beings having a human experience, so let’s make it an enjoyable one.”
Classes are held on Fridays beginning January 5th from 5:30 to 7p.m. For more information, call 520-991-4154. See ad, page 19.
