Meditative Prayer Cools and Calms
The monthly Taizé services at Casas Adobes Congregational Church, an open and affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ (CACC-UCC), provides an alternative, meditative service with no sermon, but rather beautiful music and singing, spiritual and mindful readings and silence. Taizé Services are offered the second Thursday of each month, from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., at the CACC-UCC Sanctuary.
CACC-UCC also offers opportunities for small Christian prayer groups with a strong emphasis on interior silence that encourages silence and deeper connection to the divine. Centering Prayer Group is held every Wednesday, from noon to 1 p.m.
The Taizé Community started in France in 1940 to give shelter to refugees, mostly children, fleeing the war. Today, the Community is made up of hundreds of Christian leaders from various religious backgrounds from around 30 nations.
Location: 6801 N. Oracle Rd., Tucson. To learn more about our alternative meditation and prayer opportunities, visit CasasAdobesUCC.org/taize.
