Isabel Lizarazu
While some medical doctors oppose alternative medicine, others are advocates or practitioners themselves. From childhood, Isabel Lizarazu wanted to heal people. She was always curious, always searching. As she was growing up, she worked beside her father, a Bolivian medical doctor with a broad concept of what “healing” really is. From him, she learned to practice yoga, hypnosis and telepathy, and how to keep an open mind about the healing process.

When she graduated from high school, she went to Germany, where she lived for five years, studying medicine at Gutenberg University at Mainz. In Germany, she was introduced to botanics, medicine derived from plants. Over the next years, she visited many countries, including Denmark, Iran and Ecuador.
Lizarazu studied herbology, learning from shamans how to grow herbs and use them to cure various diseases. In 1984, she received training in acupuncture at the Northern School of Chinese Medicine in Minnesota. According to ancient practice, acupuncture can restore balance to the body and mind, curing disease and controlling pain. In addition to acupuncture, Lizarazu studied various kinds of yoga, “to develop the ability to diagnose diseases”.
She likes to spend as much time as possible with her patients, talking to them and counseling them, as the practice of natural healing involves individual differences and discipline.
