Very Special Alternatives was established in 1993 by Vonnie Schultz Albrecht, RN, a holistic nurse and colon therapist, to provide skilled nursing services to local naturopathic and holistic physicians.

After nearly a decade in conventional or traditional allopathic medicine, a series of events impacted Albrecht’s health and mobility. A career shift was the only hope to avoid looming disability, and a tiny, classified ad held the answer. She had no idea how her world, and her mind, were going to evolve and expand.

During her training as a chelation nurse, Albrecht was introduced to a holistic patient approach, alternative therapies and integrative medicine. She witnessed improvement or healing of conditions she had previously treated with allopathic care. Her own health also improved as underlying causes were addressed. With more than 40 years in health care, her eclectic experience and nursing skills ensure a special touch when administering intravenous infusions, ozone therapies or colonics.

In her new location, a warm, relaxing space creates a safe, reassuring environment for first-time clients or those who prefer a more comfort-focused setting. Her unique system integrates a full, gravity-flow water source with a FDA-approved colonic instrument. Her “Slow Flow” method minimizes the use of pressure and utilizes a gentle stream of purified water to cleanse the buildup of waste and restore natural function. Sessions or treatments are never rushed, with extra time built in for every appointment.
