Buddhist Retreat in Aravaipa Canyon
The Tara Mahayana Buddhist Center, in Tucson, will hold a retreat on Mahamudra and the Nature of the Mind, from April 5 to 8, in Aravaipa
Canyon, with Gen Kelsang Lingpur, of Tara Center, and Kadam Michelle Gauthier, of Clear Light Buddhist Center, in Phoenix. Everyone is welcome.
The retreat is a special opportunity to get away from the busyness of everyday life and become deeply acquainted with special states of mind. No prior experience of meditation is needed to participate. Attend the whole retreat or part two, from Friday night through Sunday afternoon.
Sutra Mahamudra meditations incorporate the wisdom teachings from Buddha on the nature and power of the mind. From the spaciousness of our mind, we can clearly see our potential, learn how to let go of mental obstructions and experience a profound inner peace.
A group hike through the canyon will be conducted Thursday afternoon. Friday’s sessions focus on Lamrim teachings – the foundation of the path – and Buddha’s teachings on the different levels of mind.
Cost is $125-$215. For details call 520-441-1617 or visit MeditationInTucson.org/mountain-retreat. Tara Center location: 1701 E. Miles St., Tucson.
