Most of the time, Don Gibbens from GE Computing works on making people’s computer systems work better, but he has recently added some other services to his business—a Technology Shopper service, Better Than New service and Technology Recycle service.

With Technology Shopper service, Gibbens helps clients get just the right equipment needed for home or office. “I listen to you, research your needs, recommend items and purchase them for you,” he says. “As your agent, I purchase your items at cost, plus a small Technology Shopper service charge.”

The Better Than New service includes the setup of a new computer—removal of all the “junk” from the manufacturer, the addition of a client’s own files and a total backup. “It needs to have an anti-virus and other utilities to make it function cleanly and quickly. It needs to have your important files returned to it, along with any apps that can be transferred,” explains Gibbens.

Technology Recycle service is available for those who wish to bring in old computers and technology. “If we are getting you a new system, we may be able to give you a trade-in,” says Gibbens. “If you have computers and technology in your closet or garage, we can clean it up, remove your data and make it available to others who can use it.”
