Enriching Offerings at Casa Adobes Congregational Church
Casa Adobes Congregational Church, an open and affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ (CACC-UCC), is kicking off 2018 in spirit, mind and body, with enriching services, groups and informational forums.
Taizé services are held the second Thursday of each month, from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Taizé is an alternative form of worship that includes soothing music, brief readings and silent meditation in candlelight.
Centering Prayer Group is held every Wednesday, from noon to 1 p.m. Centering Prayer is a method of Christian meditation with a strong emphasis on interior silence that encourages silence and deeper connection to the divine.
Several upcoming informational forums will also be held. At 11:30 a.m., February 18, “Political Districts Drawn Independently and Fairly” will be hosted by Colleen Mathis, chairperson of the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission, who will discuss gerrymandering and how voting districts are determined in the state. At 11:30 a.m., March 18, at “Healthcare: Marketplace, Medicare and Medicaid”, local healthcare administrators and officials will shed light on the confusing state of healthcare in the U.S., addressing access, quality and cost.
