You Are Your Own Sales Manager
Jan 31, 2018 03:33PM ● By Don Zavis
Imagine that you are the sales manager for your company. Even if you are a company of one, you still have a sales department—one that is totally staffed by you.
If it was Monday morning and you were meeting with the Salesperson You, what would you say? What would the Sales Manager You say to the Salesperson You to improve your revenue performance? This is an important issue for the self-performers or sole proprietors to address.
What if you were hiring a new salesperson? What skills would you require? Would the Sales Manager You even hire the salesperson candidate you? All “self-performing” clients should act as their own sales manager and develop a minimum daily sales behaviors for the salesperson them and commit to their implementation.
If you don’t own a business, consider that you are your own life coach. If you were your own life coach, what would Life Coach You be saying to you regarding your life? And, as a result, what would you do differently in 2018?
Even if you don’t have a business, you have a customer complaint, customer services, human services department, transportation coordinator—it just happens to be you. Are you allowing yourself to perform at a diminished level of performance?
If you wanted to save money, how would you do that? You are your own life coach. You are the voice in your head that tells you what to do. If you’re a gal and you always pick the wrong guys, what would your life coach say? How about your friends? Are they a positive influence? Would you hire yourself to manage your life?
As individuals and business owners, we have decision-making responsibility for our lives. What decisions will you make this year?
