Nathan Anderson, a Licensed Acupuncturist and Professor of Chinese Medicine, first learned the power of acupuncture when he had a shoulder injury from playing goalkeeper for his college soccer team. “Conventional sports medicine offered no solutions, yet just one acupuncture treatment immediately resolved the problem. This was an eye-opening exposure to the efficacy of Chinese medicine,” says Anderson.A graduate of the Johns Hopkins University and Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine, Anderson has been in private practice for 16 years, and a professor of Chinese medicine for 14 years. He is currently part of the Fellowship Faculty at the University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine and the Dean of Clinical Education at the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
At Catalina Acupuncture, Anderson offers all modalities within Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, Chinese herbs, tui-na (orthopedic massage), cupping (myofascial decompression), gua-sha (friction therapy), moxibustion (focalized heat therapy) and he also provides lifestyle, exercise and dietary recommendations. In addition, he has a family practice that includes pain management and services for most aspects of internal medicine, ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations.
“Chinese medicine is a complete medical system, with time-tested methods of diagnosis and treatment,” enthuses Anderson. “Begin your path to optimal health at Catalina Acupuncture.”
