We’ve made it to the end of another especially interesting year in our lives, and that makes it an even better time to pause and reflect, while looking forward to a hopeful future. We are excited to feature stories about the power of community, a different viewpoint on holiday overwhelm, adaptogens that can boost immunity and much more.
Our feature story, “Circles of Healing”, dives into the importance of finding communities with which we can share our highs and lows. On page 16, read about how “having experiences of fellowship and communion with like-minded people” can be so beneficial to our hearts and minds.
Traditionally, this time of year is extra sugar-filled. Holiday treats can be delicious, but too heavy on the unhealthy ingredients. Instead, check out page 26, for some ways to eat healthier, but still delicious and fun, holiday fare. Plenty of recipes are included, so happy eating!
While my passion has been healthy living in the Tucson community for the last many years, I have doubled down on that goal with a second venture, helping people over 65 enroll in medical coverage. As a licensed health and life insurance independent advisor, I can now help people in a more direct, one-on-one way, in addition to my treasured position as Publisher of Natural Awakenings Tucson. On page 13, you can learn more about how guidance with Medicare coverage can be so helpful for many during this critical time of year when health decisions are being made.
Of course, this is also a huge month for shopping and giving, so do your community and your loved ones a favor by shopping local. Sometimes the best gifts are really experiences, so consider a gift certificate or voucher for a local service that will brighten the recipient’s day and leave a lasting impression. Check out the ads and Community Resource Guide throughout these pages for some great options.
May this month’s edition of Natural Awakenings bring you pause, comfort and joy.
