On March 25, experience Poranguí’s improvisational live looping world soul music in concert. This intentionally curated event will be a special journey of ancestral rhythm, dance and healing sound at the MSA Annex, 267 South Avenida del Convento, in Tucson. From 6 to 7 p.m., attend the Music is Medicine Workshop with Poranguí, then enjoy the concert from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The event costs $25 in advance, $30 at the door, $10 for teens and is free for little ones. On April 8, at 7 p.m., listen to the Symphony of Serenity: A Mystical Music Meditation Journey with musician Kennedy OneSelf, at Solar Culture Gallery, 31 East Toole Avenue, in Tucson. This will be a profoundly potent symphonic orchestration of acoustic vibration that guides the listener to the inner stillness where lasting peace resides. As participants in this voyage through vibration, attendees will simply lie down and relax into an experience of deep serenity that lingers long after the last sound. OneSelf makes his own didgeridoos and other instruments, and has designed his music to be conducive to meditation and transformation. The event costs $30 at the door.
